Yeah, it's basically just G and C. And John's tremolo'd guitar part is just those open chords.

Those two songs also came to my mind.

Also, I believe "Trip Away" from JA's live debut is only 2 chords (A and G, I think).

CCR Bootleg and Effigy. Also Steely. Dan Show Biz Kids. Far from boring.

Sounds like G and C7 with octaves in "96 Tears" by Question Mark and the Mysterians...

At least that's what comes up in a Google search on "How many chords in 96 tears".

I guess it's inevitable that a 2 chord restriction will eventually descend into EDM stuff, so I'll throw this Daniel Ash fav
    from the early 2000's

    "Kid 2000"

Love the kid's vision of the future that has us flying around with shooty rocket thingies attached to our ankles.

Eleanor Rigby, but I guess it doesn’t really count due to the colorations on the Em chord...

    Aretha - Chain Of Fools

It's a Cm vamp all the way through, but the very opening guitar motif resolves to a C major (I think!)

Only two chords but certainly not boring.
In fact, it is one of their biggest hits.

The only song my band allows me to sing: Copperhead Road. Lots of D and a bit of G.
