These both arrived late last week. I still need their 2nd Album, but I'm not paying the $60+ that it seems to be available at online.
Electric Wizard - Doperhrone. Purchased from Leeds’ excellent Norman Records - part of their 25th Anniversary exclusive 'Blueberry & Sour Diesel' blue/black/white splatter vinyl 2LP on Rise Above. Limited edition of 300 copies .
My local record store pointed me towards this. I took a flyer on it and have to say it is superb. If you're into Cohen or just beautiful music, I highly recommend.
In snail mail today. Sealed 1971 original Beach Boys Surfs Up lp. Gorgeous mint lp with mint lyric sheet. Cleaned and will be spun tonight.
Thunder and Lake Street Dive's latest. I went black vinyl for Thunder. I went back and forth..."limited...but man colored vinyl annoys me"...says as LSD's is a WHITE...f'n WHITE...I firmly believe no one in that band actually plays vinyl. Could've been worse--could've been CLEAR....
Picked this one up this morning, had my favorite local store order it for me.One of my favorites and includes "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed",not on the original CD release. Originally released in April of 1990. This album features the longest recorded version of "Mountain Jam" and at that time, a previously unreleased rendition of "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed." It has been remastered from original analog tapes by Keven Reeves (Brothers And Sisters, The 1971 Fillmore East Recordings) to 192kHz 24-bit audio & then cut on copper plates using Abbey Road Mastering's Direct Metal Mastering (DMM) lathe. 180g.
'Elvis Presley' LSP 1254 (e) 1977 US pressing, '50,000,000 Elvis Fans...' etc. LSP 2075 (e) 1977 US pressing and 'Elvis' Golden Records' LPE 1707 Canadian pressing. All Electronically Reprocessed Stereo pressings! Crikey, where's my sumatriptan, I feel a migraine on its way...
Bought that on CD yesterday, my vinyl purchase on the same trip was "Insurgentes" by Steven Wilson - a recentish remaster with a 4th side of bonus material. My main reason for going to the shop was to pick up my Jethro Tull A la Mode box set. The proprietor of the shop is a very happy man after his first week post lockdown opening.
How does this one sound compared to the original? One of my favorite albums of all time. About to order this pressing.
