That’s awesome! Sure looks like his Dad circa 1970. I knew David had the “Harry Potter” looking kid, but I didn’t know about this son.
yeah I mean I get how long hair can be deceiving but that doesn't remotely look like a boy for several reasons.
Ahhh, got it. It’s a daughter. That would explain why I didn’t know about this “son”. She still looks like her Dad in 1970 though.
David: Today I'm going to teach you how to play "Dogs", the entire song including the guitar solo. Romany: You gotta be crazy!! David: Yes that's the first line. Well done. Now keep going.
Here's a young woman playing that solo. I think she was 16 or 17 at the time, and she authentically gave me goosebumps while I was shooting it.
I don't know how successful any parent can be at teaching their own kids. Even if you're David Gilmore, when you get right down to it, you're still just Dad. Some rock stars hire other people to teach their kids - Frank Zappa asked the late Eddie Van Halen to teach his son to Dweezil, and Bowie guitarist Earl Slick sent his kids Julie and Eric to the original Paul Green School of Rock music (Julie is an amazing Prog bass player, and Eric was the drummer with Dr Dog.)
She’s got to have one of the top 5 coolest Dads and one of the top 5 best guitar players to learn from. Such an incredibly lucky girl. Hopefully she doesn’t ask Mom to teach her the art of writing lyrics!
