Should this really be on The Rock album? Kinda light. Maybe the love songs album would have been more appropriate.

I think he should put The Last Note of Freedom on the Restless Heart repackaging.

But it sounds like it should be on Restless Heart. It fits with those songs better.

AND another thing, I realize Slow An' Easy is a bluesy jam, but I wish it were on The Rock album. To me Slow An' Easy, Still of the Night, and Judgement Day are like the Whitesnake trinity of monstrously huge songs, I hate for them to be torn apart. They should be together.

Never really sounded that different to my ears, but it's been a long time since I last played it.

Unless he's planning some kind of solo box set further down the line. (Hasn't he mentioned wanting to do something with Into the Light?)

Like Matthew said, the Slip of the Tongue box would've been the most period-appropriate place to put it, but I can see why he might want to keep solo and band stuff separate. I guess you could argue Restless Heart was intended to be a solo album, but seemingly part of the reason for the upcoming remix is to make it more Whitesnake.

Off the top of my head...

    Drums are beefed up
    Additional background vocals
    Additional rhythm guitars
    Much more polished mix

Nope, same Vandenberg solo as the original.

Despite the additional rhythm guitars, they seem to have a lot less bite than the original. Vandenberg's tone on this one was always pretty awesome.

Sounds like some additional rhythm guitars from Joel and keyboards were re-recorded.
So the drums were not re-recorded at all per what I've read on the thread so far? Sounds like Tommy drumming to me as well. Bass sounds different to me too but I'm tone deaf when it comes to bass playing.

Killed most of the reverb on the vocals so David is much more upfront and modern sounding
Bass much louder in the mix
Reverb also deadened on the drums
Sykes lead (Cambell is on the single/video)

I have all of their albums from the first self-titled album with Northwinds to Slip of the tongue. In the nineties I heard nothing from these guys and I walked away and forgot about them. Since then have they done anyting relevant or decent? I heard one of their songs here I go again which sounded like it was a total sellout. I just blurted it out of my mind and thought I'll hold on to their early stuff because that's who whitesnake is to me. My favorite album of theirs is Slide it in.

I think their last 3 albums were pretty good. Forevermore being the best. At least check that one out on YouTube or Spotify.

Yeah there are a couple versions I have on the albums. The first version the lyrics is "like a hobo I was born to walk alone". I thought he was actually saying a homo. Lol. The version from the 80s he sings "like a drifter I was born to walk alone".

But the version I heard that was like a stab in the heart. It was very commercial. I mean it reminded me of We built this city by Starship.
