Bought a ducat to see Culture Club in Toronto this August yesterday morning. To
celebrate last evening I caught Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes in a small
club here. Great show. Didn't play `Hearts Of Stone' but did cover Mink DeVille.

Going to see The Waterboys tonight. Hoping for many tunes from A Pagan Place, This Is the Sea, and 2015's excellent and underrated Modern Blues. I'm not holding my breath, though. Still, they were excellent both times I've seen them before, and they are basically bound to be great no matter what they play.

    June:
    The Decemberists (Indianapolis)
(The new album is starting to grow on me. I saw them a couple of years ago, and they were great.)

    Jack Johnson (Indianapolis)
(Saw him maybe 15 years ago, and as I recall, he puts on a pretty solid, fun show.)

    July:
    Radiohead (Columbus, OH)
(I've seen them 5-6 times, but it's been quite a long time since they were in this neck of the woods, and I can't freakin' wait to see them again!)

    August:
    O.A.R.
(Not really a huge fan of what I've heard so far, but my wife is, and she was a good sport when she went with me to see Low play last month, so I can't complain.)

I'm also itching to see co-headliners Ray LaMontagne / Neko Case, as well as Real Estate, both in June... but I haven't pulled the trigger quite yet.

Saw Justin Timberlake at a private concert for a conference I attended last week. His music’s not really my thing but it was free, sooooo.... I will say he and his band (15 piece? 16?) put on a great high energy show.

Other than that Avett Bros at Stage AE in Pittsburgh is all that’s on my calendar. Also not really my thing but it is an anniversary present for my wife.

This has been more of a sports year.

Bergenfest is coming up this week, so I'll be seeing Tom Russell, The Districts, Sparks, Nick Cave, Father John Misty and Jason Isbell in the span of two days. Almost too much greatness for one fellow to take.

This one is my next show, unless something comes up before.
My daughter is a big fan, so we are going together with a couple of friends. Can't wait.

I just saw the Soul Queen of New Orleans, Irma Thomas, this past Saturday, June 9th at The San Francisco Jazz Festival. She noted that she's been performing for 60 years and was recently awarded an honorary doctorate from Tulane University!

I already mentioned that I am missing a band or two due to being away on vacation.
We will be in Amsterdam in August but missing Patti Smith by a few days.
The question is - can I work Brussels into the itinerary?

I was at the Crimson show last night, was bloody brilliant. Wish I could've attended tonight's gig but as a uni student I just can't afford to. Anyway I'll be back at the Palladium tomorrow for Hawkwind so can't complain.

I have two concerts within 3 nights in December. Might make me seem like a bit of a 80's hair rock glammy fan, but that's not particularly representative of what I like (I just bought David Crosby's new album today). :D

Def Leppard in Glasgow and Tyla's Dogs D'Amour in Edinburgh. I do love Tyla and the Dogs I must admit.

Lynyrd Skynyrd is playing a few Canadian arena shows in March of 2019 with
Randy Bachman(!) opening. Should be a great night of guitar rock. I was under
the impression that Skynyrd's last show was the stadium concert in Jacksonville
with Jason Aldean, etc. Guess I was wrong.
