Well, we like what we like.
But I really like the way the album flows, and the way the tracks are weaved together.
As much as the talent shines, so does the track sequencing and editing/mixing.
    Just a work of art.

It's fluid. 25 years ago Rubber Soul would have won the poll. Then it became hip to vote for Revolver.

The 'hip' crowd just seems to vote on the one they're not burned out on, or what others say is cool.

My own personal mix of Rubber Soul ... I took the US album and added Nowhere Man back in after You Won't See Me and inserted We Can Work It Out after Girl ... is on the short list of my favorite Beatle albums.

Rubber Soul was a fulcrum album. It defined the beginning of an amazing run of genre defying and defining albums. But its hard to top Revolver in terms of redefining what pop music can be about.

Another anti-Maxwellian..but my question is, if you removed MMM and PM, what would you do with She Came In Through The Bathroom Window (maybe flesh it out into a full, longer arrangement a la the Joe Cocker arrangement...?) ?

I agree even though Harrison, I think, said Revolver was part two of Rubber Soul -- or something like that.

Revolver has some sub par material. Dr Robert is pretty meh, She Said..isn't much better

George did say that, but he has turned out to be one of the least-reliable chroniclers of Beatles history. He often got details mixed up. I figure he was looking at it from the POV of within the whirlwind of Beatlemania, cranking out product at a furious rate and touring until exhausted.

Yeh, another abbey road fan…the star in their crown, the composite better than its parts.

He referred to them both as “happy albums” to make. Maybe that’s why he lumped them
together. It’s a rarity that we’ve heard George refer to his “Beatle time” as “happy”.

To me, Rubber Soul is more like part two of Help!.

Great album, but it doesn't rock.

I wonder if Ed Sullivan would have let the Beatles perform Run For Your Life on his show. Would Lennon be allowed to sing "I'd rather see you dead"? Makes the Rolling Stones' Lets Spend the Night Together seem tame. I like it.
