I want to burn in some new tubes in my Rogue Sphynx for 100 hours while I listen to a different amp. Will it hurt anything to power up the Sphynx without hooking it up to the speakers?

NO. In most cases it is NOT a good idea to power up a tube amp with no load connected. Potentially damaging to the output transformers.

Don't risk it.... most SS amps are protected against an open circuit but not tube amps

I like to play FM and TV audio to burn stuff in over a few nights, so I don't obsess over burn in or any perception of burn in. Then I throw some quality material on after my ears have acclimated to the new component.... by then its burned in

Ha ha , that changes everything. I still would break it in with a speaker lpad just to be safe. Be sure to follow up with your impressions

Call the manufacturer as this is a hybrid.

I don't see how you could harm it without speakers hooked up to it. It's just not being presented with a load, that's all.

It's not going to hurt anything amp, no problem running class D with no load. Other than the wasted electricity, no problem.

Cool idea. I often use my Yamaha receiver to play FM as background for my day.
