Bad review from www.thefilmstage.com didn’t like A Rainy Day In New York.. no reviewer‘s name. Really tore into the film as if they had to prove something.
Thanks... I'm not the biggest "Rainy Day in New York" fan but much of this review reads like an attack on the filmmaker. And the reviewer lost me pretty early on. Like Woody or not, I'm not sure how much his "privilege" has to do with the quality of his work.

Perhaps a stupid idea, but I'm going to do it anyway: So, I think that I'm going to go online and buy a ticket for Cleveland's Friday evening show of A Rainy Day in New York. I can't make the show as I live in Maryland, but: a) it appears to be a historical theater in a small, local chain, so I'd like to support them; b) I'd like to support the company that is distributing the movie; and c) I'd like to support Woody. Yes, I already bought the German Blu-ray (and loaned it away). Yes, I have the US Blu-ray on pre-order. And yes, giving the ten bucks to a food bank is probably a more reasonable thing to do. But I think that I'm going to do it anyway...
I was able to turn off the German ones...I don't remember if it came with English ones. I'll check with my friend who currently has it.
I'll never know. He was off-base to start with, and then I got bored and started skimming. How much value anyone puts into anyone else's opinion is up to them.
Sometimes, subs are useful for that reason, but the dialogue in Woody’s films is usually crystal clear. I certainly had no problems following this one.
If ..I’m paying 15/20$$ for a new blu ray I want subtitles, regardless. Subtitles has its uses, neibours .. the old lady below... turn that racket down.
Yeah, you don’t want the embarrassment of the old biddy below knowing you’re watching Timothée Chalamet trying to act.
Timberlake is a decent actor. Not everything he’s done is to my taste, but he isn’t an embarrassment in front of the camera by any means. I enjoyed him in Inside Llewyn Davis and Wonder Wheel.
Acting ? Prefer his girlfriend/ wife Jessica Biel. Wow! Mickey Rourke and her on the Graham Norton show.
