I think the Beatles - Reel Music is a good candidate for this list.

Kylie Minogue~50+1 Fifty Kylie songs (she'd only released 20 singles at the time) woven into a medley plus a Japanese remix of Celebration.

Basically any of those that take original songs and put modern-made overdubs over top of them and release them as a "Greatest Hits" of the "Artist".

Either that or "Greatest Hits" compilations that feature one charted hit and then put 11 other "random tracks" on it. It might be a perfectly fine, or even refreshing, compilation, but a greatest hits it is not! :)

Hooligans. I bought it when it came out in high school because I was a Who fanatic, but there were no new songs. Very disappointing.

Col. Parker had no interest in artistic integrity when it came to his only client. "Just keep the money rolling in, boy. I'll take 50% to support my degenerate gambling habit and you pay everybody else out of your share."

Not a live album, and only contained 4 Beatles' tracks.
    Also:
The album is also known for a mistake in the liner notes: "It is with a good deal of pride and pleasure that this copulation has been presented"—presumably "copulation" should have been "compilation". (In confirming the matter, Snopes.com noted that "copulation" was appropriate, since the makers of the album were "trying to screw the fans out of their money.")[2]

I think groups whose record companies have issued more comps than the groups have albums can all fall into this list. The Who come to mind. It's not their faults, nor is it the faults of whatever bands you are talking about. Comp albums are often made without the bands' consent. I just roll my eyes when I see another Who release with the early hit singles, some overplayed tracks from their next three brilliant albums, a some single tracks from Who by Numbers, Who Are You, Face Dances, and It's Hard. How many times do we need those comps?

Listening to the Best Of Radiohead cd at work today.

    Really odd sequencing.
Karma Police, Creep, No Surprises and High And Dry back to back makes for a slow stretch.
Should have put Just somewhere in there, which isn’t a good opener.

Nothing tops the A-Z of Queen Vol 1 (of which there were no further volumes). I can't imagine a world where someone would buy this instead of Greatest Hits 1 and 2.
