If buying new, and I had other appropriate kit and room space to drive them (I certainly don’t at the moment!) I’d definitely give these a listen...
Think the £ price translates to $4500 approx.

I haven’t come across a speaker under $5,000 that interests me more than Ascend Acoustics Sierra RAAL towers. At $3,000, that leaves enough left over for 2 Rhythmic F12 subs or a Musical Fidelity M5si amplifier.

Used, Used, Used. I don't own the Treos, that was an early morning typo. I'm at the point that I beginning to see less and less reason for buying certain high priced items (such as speakers) new.

    Sorry about the typo.

    Totally agree....

I try to balance things a bit, used, factory direct, New from dealer...but on large purchases, a “pre-loved” piece of equipment checks off all the boxes...

They are 40-50% of cost new

You can try things out, and if they don’t work in your system, flip them for little loss

When you eventually upgrade, you lose far less on resale

Good hifi equipment is by and large reliable

    Compared to the Harbeth C7ES?

Compared both (C7es3 and SP2/3R2) and I highly prefer the Spendors. The new 2/3s should be even better with greater bass dynamics.

Why I would buy Paradigm Prestige 95F towers

    1. I like the ‘Canadian’ sound. I’ve had very good experiences with Paradigm and PSB before

    2. Made in Canada. PSBs are Chinese now.

    3. I’ve already got a bookshelf/sub system. Something new.

4.They look nice. Paradigm has a higher tier of speakers (the Persona line) but they’re aluminum cases with automotive paint finishes. So G-D ugly.

Very interesting ...! :) ... I'd like to hear these, just for fun. My prior experience with Klipsch's affordable speakers is that they usually sound ragged and bright ...

I tend to give the Audiophiliac's reviews a lot of credence (he's very open-minded, no audio snob). He does mention that they're a little bright, but these might be just the ticket for someone wanting a dynamic small speaker ... and has tone controls on their amp. :)

Harbeth vs. Spendor has always been an interesting "hometown rivalry" ... I've done comparos of equivalent models several times; I'll listen to Harbeth, switch to Spendor and it'll sound (slightly) dull; other times, listening to Spendor, switch to Harbeth and it'll sound (slightly) bright.
I'd could be happy with either brand, I'm sure. When I'm listening to either one on its own, I'm perfectly happy -- suggesting that the brain "adjusts" our listening to different speakers (with limits ... ones with spiky peaks in the upper region response still fatigue.)

In my comparison, the Spendors were quite a bit more resolving despite being warmer in tone. Also dig deeper in the bass despite the misleading specs.

Well, I will say this: the Classic 3/1, at a bit over $3k, is a whole lot more affordable than the one Harbeth speaker I'd consider trading my P3ESR's in for -- M30.2's, at $5k and change. A bargain compared to C7ES3's too. I'd love to hear the 3/1's.

I’ve been living with the B&W 803 Matrix Series 2 for well over 20 years, not sure what the newer version would set you back today but I’m definitely not parting with them, I’m totally content....

I haven't. Dealer said he set up the D7s and couldn't get their brightness tamed. To my ears, the new A-line is dead neutral.

The 3/1s have 7" drivers, so not quite apples to apples with the 30.2s. The new A-line sounds very close to the older classic line but with better dynamics - Spendors with real midbass punch. In a small room, I could live happily ever after with A4s. But I have JMR Bliss Silvers for when that day comes.
