Cocaine flame in my bloodstream Sold my coat when I hit Spokane Bought myself a hard pack of cigarettes In the early morning rain Lately, my hands they don't feel like mine My eyes been stung with dust, I'm blind Held you in my arms one time Lost you just the same Jolene I ain't about to go straight It's too late I found myself face-down in a ditch Booze on my hair, blood on my lips A picture of you, holding a picture of me In the pocket of my blue jeans Still don't know what love means Still don't know what love means ...

All this skirt lapping up the sun Out of context sadly. Though skirt is referenced, Cornwell is using it as a slang term for women.
Glad you liked it. That song will make a grown man cry. Ray LaMontagne is one incredible singer/songwriter.
Maybe you're Alabama? I'm in the UK and never heard of him before. Right away I knew I liked it so downloaded it. The beauty of music forums, you are forever finding great songs that you would miss out on unless you were here.
Third Eye Blind "Semi-Charmed Life" You're the priestess, I must confess Those little red panties They pass the test
grinderman, palaces of montezuma "The epic of Gilgamesh A pretty little black A-line dress I give to you The spinal cord of JFK Wrapped in Marilyn Monroe's negligee I give to you I want nothing in return Just the softest little breathless word"
That is the primary reason I am here. Always amazed at what I discover in the most random threads. I used to love finding new music in dingy record stores and niche magazines/fanzines. These days I come here. I am indeed in Alabama (not the UK). Fired up I introduced you to Ray LaMontagne. I've seen him in concert twice. He can write and sing as good as anyone. And he can tear your heart out.
Among other loves I discovered right here are Mark Germino and Patty Griffin (should you know them). I didn't Google Birmingham either, it's just one of those few cities / states things I already know!
