Pantera took over the crown when Metallica lost their mojo on the black album.

Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music. It calms me down.

The two Carnivore-albums and the Reign In Blood album... after that problem solved!
And add the Slow, Deep & Hard album... enemies destroyed after that!

I used to listen to Henry Rollins and Warren Zevon etc a lot, but like Grant I've slowed down...

Don't really have one I could single-out as a "go-to", but Phil Collins' "I Don't Care Any More" fills the bill. Good rhythmic/lyric swagger, constant intensity, flash of emotional peaks punctuated with drums and crying guitar.

    Super-happy-fun-angst! :p

Indeed. Though I'm a pretty calm guy in general. My spouse has bpd and is angry all the time, so it's a tough contrast dealing with her outbursts and rages.
