"Stone Cold" by Rainbow. Ugh. Caught a snippet of it this morning and all freaking day that silly synth fill before the chorus, and then the chorus, over and over and over in my head: "Searching in the darkness / Fading out of sight / Love was here and gone like a thief in the night..."

    Someone shoot me.

I woke up this morning humming the RAMONES Rock and Roll High School and it made its presence known later this afternoon. I have no idea why... I haven't heard the song in a while.

I recently bought DM's 2009 Sounds of the Universe deluxe box set. Why this song, Ghost, wasn't on the album boggles my mind, as it is everything Depeche Mode used to stand for, unique synth songs, and it could have replaced a few of the more generic tracks on SOTU. But the song has been staying with me.

    Ghost -

The Arcade Fire - The Suburbs is one that grabs you and never leaves you alone. Find the Spike Jonze-directed video sometime. It's really something.

Wang Chung - "Everybody Have Fun Tonight"

There's a local radio station that has the tagline "We play anything." Apparently they play anything twice, because I heard "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" at the same time of day, two days in a row. Now it's stuck.

I'm trying to think of who it reminds me of ... maybe Neil Young on vocals (?) , but that guitar player is just wailing! I'll bet they'd be great live.

I'll let you know as soon I as find out...bought tickets to see them and plan to have a great night enjoying the wailing. Personally, I classify them in a classification with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and The Foals..two others that I love and had an incredible time seeing live.

Awesome. I'd love to hear your review. BRMC is a good comparison. I googled Black Angels a couple of minutes ago and saw that they had backed up Roky Erickson a couple of times. That's a pretty damn good pedigree. :agree:
