You don't have to post a big list all at once. Just add some favorite tunes whenever you think of them.

Arthur Collins & Byron G. Harlan - "I'm Going Back to Dixie"

Owes more than a bit to "Alexander's Ragtime Band" in the chorus--as well as the Civil War-era tune "Dixie" of course. I particularly like the verses though--the melodic slides and rhythmic variations are more sophisticated and nuanced than a lot of pop tunes from this era. This one's from 1911 (as is "Alexander's Ragtime Band")

I am not super familiar with 1910, but I love the ghostly sound the old recordings have

I haven't ever played most of my Edison discs, plus I think they're likely from the 1920's. I like Taxi by, I think, The Green Brothers Novelty Orchestra.

There are not too many recordings from the early 1900’s that I like, due to the technology being in its infancy.

However, I really like a lot of music that was composed then. For example:

    “Magnetic Rag” - Scott Joplin

“Saint Louis Blues” - W.C. Handy

    “After You’ve Gone” - Layton / Creamer

    The Planets - Gustav Holst

    The Firebird - Igor Stravinsky
