You don't have to post a big list all at once. Just add some favorite tunes whenever you think of them.
Arthur Collins & Byron G. Harlan - "I'm Going Back to Dixie" Owes more than a bit to "Alexander's Ragtime Band" in the chorus--as well as the Civil War-era tune "Dixie" of course. I particularly like the verses though--the melodic slides and rhythmic variations are more sophisticated and nuanced than a lot of pop tunes from this era. This one's from 1911 (as is "Alexander's Ragtime Band")

I think this is the only recording in my collection that has anything recorded in the 1910's. https://www.amazon.com/Barrios-Complete-Guitar-Recordings-1913-1942/dp/B000S6BN0W
I haven't ever played most of my Edison discs, plus I think they're likely from the 1920's. I like Taxi by, I think, The Green Brothers Novelty Orchestra.
Mahler: Symphony No.9 Vaughan Williams: Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis Stravinsky: Firebird, Petrushka, Histoire du Soldat Ravel: Piano Trio in A Minor Sibelius: Symphony No.5 R.Strauss: Eine Alpensinfonie Debussy: Violin Sonata in G minor Holst: The Planets
There are not too many recordings from the early 1900’s that I like, due to the technology being in its infancy. However, I really like a lot of music that was composed then. For example: “Magnetic Rag” - Scott Joplin “Saint Louis Blues” - W.C. Handy “After You’ve Gone” - Layton / Creamer The Planets - Gustav Holst The Firebird - Igor Stravinsky
After You've Gone St. Louis Blues Swanee You'd Be Surprised Colonel Bogey March (used in "The Bridge On The River Kwai") Livery Stable Blues Mahler's Eighth (written 1907/8 but premiered in 1912) Whiffenpoof Song ("Baa Baa Baa") Some Of These Days Let Me Call You Sweetheart
