I chose Master. I prefer Peace Sells over RIP.
I would also have to vote Reign In Blood over both of the choices.

Agree with every word here. In this restricted poll I'd go with MOP. Sacred Reich, Voivod and Mordred were doing intereting things. Voivod were especially experimental and idiosyncratic. Death Angel were an interesting outfit. If this were a top 10 I'd have Kreator, Slayer and Exodus in there too.

The thing is the "Big Four" are mostly mere shadows of their former selves at this point, while some of the lesser known Thrash bands of the era are still absolutely killing it and recording some of the best music of their careers. If we add longevity and adherence to playing uncompromising Thrash as criteria to be at the top, then the "Big Four" should consist of Testament, Exodus, Overkill, and especially Death Angel!

Thread title a bit misleading.. although both albums are the best on their own merits - I won't vote, too biased.

Spot on regarding Overkill. Their last five albums have been great, especially Ironbound and the Wings Of War.
I've never been able to get into the other bands you list except for Exodus' Bonded By Blood.

From the poll I voted Master Of Puppets, I'm not really a fan of Rust In Peace aside from Holy Wars. I much, much prefer Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?

    Tough call.

I was hoping for a non-poll thread when I first clicked on the link. It would have been more interesting.

    I'll take Puppets here.

From the poll it's Master, no question (and yes, Peace Sells is so much better than Rust).

But everyone knows the best Thrash album of all time is Reign In Blood (Slayer) :uhhuh:!!!

2nd best is Time Does Not Heal (Dark Angel).

We've opened for those guys quite a few times here in DC... they like Ray (head dude) of Krass Judgement.
Those guys always kill it in the studio... and on-stage; just amazing to watch. And the nicest guys you'd ever want to be on a billing with.
