Baltar and his henchman Lucifer from Battlestar Galactica.

And for obvious reasons, I would agree on Wo Fat.

Louie The Lilac (Milton Berle) from Batman (1960s TV Series). Unlike the other villains on the series, Louie The Lilac was played as an ice cold villain who would be a good fit in the modern Batman universe. He came across as someone who would have no problem killing you if you cross him.

Temple Fugate/The Clock King (voiced by Alan Rachins) in Batman - The Animated Series. One of the few villains who Batman wasn't able to hit with his fists (Fugate knows exactly how long it takes Batman to throw a punch so he is able to easily avoid it), and his sense of timing is so precise that he steps away from the top of a building just at the right time to land on a passing train without even checking to see if the train is coming.

Totally forgot about him. That is a good choice.

Similarly for ST:TNG, Q would fit as a villain you love to hate but sometimes one you hate to love.

Another one I forgot about. I loved that show. I wish it had a much longer run than it actually did.

  13. Negan from "The Walking Dead". I know I would have either killed that guy or been killed by him because I would not stand around for his particular kind of nonsense.

  14. How about the Cylons from the original Battlestar Galactica series?
I always thought they were kind of neat with the roving "eye" and electronic voice.

Dishonest John - Nyah ha ha ha! Bonus points if you remember the show. Also that Bunny Rabbit on Captain Kangaroo was just plain evil.

Davros (first played by Michael Wisher) from Doctor Who.

Mr. Freeze (voiced by Michael Ansara) from Batman - The Animated Series.

Brainiac (voiced by Corey Burton) from Superman - The Animated Series: The only version of this villain that I like. I like that they used him as a logical explanation for what the Kryptonians didn't believe Jor-El. Brainiac said their planet was stable...they didn't consider that Brainiac (their central computer) might be lying to them.

Interestingly, I've never thought about this before, at least not as an adult.

It would have to be someone who's not 'pure evil' because evil-for-the-sake-of-evil is boring, lazy writing. I love the Master on Doctor Who, but xe only exists to be a foil. The writing is better in some cases than others, and new actors breathe new life into the role, but the Master isn't making my list.

Similarly, a villian whose sole motive is revenge is just as boring.

Any kind of obsession brings us back to flat writing.

Finally, it has to be actor-proof. The role has to be good on paper and *enhanced* by actor, not good *because* of the actor.

So I'm going with The Mr Bill Show's Mr Sluggo.

I just want to say that one of the things that make Breaking Bad or Fargo so great is that the villains like Fring or Malvo stick around for awhile. They get vanquished too easily and too soon in so many other shows and they end up forgettable.
