For all you folks who have trouble getting music past your wife, you may have your stuff shipped to my house. My wife watches the credit card bills like a hawk, but she doesn't seem to notice stuff that comes in at no charge.
Latest order, Ain't it Fine by Dave Rich. His voice bore a strong Lefty influence but had more of a wispy, ethereal quality. Great for the slow tunes, though it made him sound occasionally out-of-breath on the more uptempo ones. Didn't work out, Did It - Dave Rich
This may be of interest to some of Ya's. I've been a Marty Robbins fan forever, I never knew he could play the dobro! Great learning new stuff about your heroes.
I have gotten a few from Amazon UK that were still packed in Bear Family’s box. I thought they had turned the corner, until the last set I got was in a bag that was torn to pieces.
A great overlooked album with Merle travis-Johnny Bond: Great Songs Of The Delmore Brothers [1969] - Merle Travis & Johnny Bond

Why do they do this? Everybody else seems to do the same thing. My Hayride box did come from Amazon UK still in the Bear Family protection box though. Did it just slip through?
My cheap Bill Monroe CD box came in the original bear Family box in a big plastic bag unharmed.Ordered in England sent from Amazon in Germany.
Good deal on the upcoming 2CD Blues Kings of Baton Rouge from Amazon.ca, $12 US. https://www.amazon.ca/Blues-Kings-Baton-Rouge-Various/dp/B07SZGT15Q
I think David Houston must have made someone angry or there is something up with his family or record company, because he seems to be a taboo subject. He was one of the most important people in Nashville from the Mid 60’s on and before that had a nice career on Sun and hardly anything is ever said or released on him. I have asked people on Facebook like Melissa Luman, Georgette Jones and Robyn Young about David Houston, like if they knew him and if he has any family around only to get no answers, not even a “no.” He was even a member of the Opry up until 1993 when he died and guess what? The only Opry appearances of his you can find are a few from the 60’s. When it comes down to it, his career kind of mirrored Bob Luman’s, only with more commercial success, only thing is I can find all of Luman’s recordings in print.

Darn, figured it was worth a shot. If it's any consolation, here's a newly released (not Bear) rockabilly-tinged gospel comp that may be up your alley: Various - White Gospel Bangers Various LP: White Gospel Bangers - 15 Rare And Raw Spiritual Stompers (LP) - Bear Family Records

A song from this amazing cd,gloomy country music again: Here is the cd,you can order it here. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Beginning-...g+of+the+end+cd&qid=1565555672&s=music&sr=1-3 Clay Hart - Free
Definitely. Whether it was a case of poor management or other factors, it would be nice to hear the full story, especially considering the lives of less-famous country artists which have been properly documented. Although Bob Luman's voice remained strong into his early 40s, David's voice had deteriorated in his later years as evident on some of his later recordings. In the prime of his career, David released numerous albums of a consistently high quality and one of my favorites was his gospel LP which I believe was from his output period on Epic.
Today's Ama UK hunt reveals Dick Curless Hard Hard Travelling Man for £36, ordered, already got the first box so nice to complete the set. Also in a non Bear related item I bought the second Bob Wills JSP set 1940 - 47 for 1p, it was described as 'acceptable' but was in fact still sealed, postage was 126 times more expensive than the discs!
