Twenty years ago, I would have said Jeff Chimenti. But I'm not sure that "little known" applies anymore.

  6. Singer Bill Ricchini, who released two fantastic albums in the early 2000s. He'd go on to become a member of Summer Fiction in the 2010s, with another couple albums. It's a slim but accomplished discography.

    Gerard Starkie
English singer/songwriter who has been in Witness, as well as The Blue Aeroplanes, plus some solo stuff.
For me Before The Calm by Witness his finest moment.
A brilliant debut album that’s as beautiful & gorgeous as it is bleak & understated.

I’d imagine this is probably their best known song though -
from their second album, as well as the American Pie 2 soundtrack.

Bill Fay...discovered Bill in an old Mojo mag in 1996, the monthly section in back about recommended obscure artists.

Bill Fay, Time of The Last Persecution, 1971
On the album sticker on the cover of a reissue,
UNCUT calls Bill Fay the missing link between Nick Drake, Ray Davies and Bob Dylan

    Isaac Guillory

In the 60's Isaac was a member of Chicago area band The Cryan' Shames. After active resistance to the Vietnam War, Guillory left the USA in November 1970, acquired a Martin D-35 and lived throughout Europe. He worked as an acoustic solo performer and settled in the United Kingdom. Guillory came to earn a reputation as one of the best guitarists ever. Many guitarists today emulate techniques Guillory evolved in the early 70's while living in the south of Spain. A particular signature technique that he developed was 'hybrid picking', where he would sustain a bass line with a plectrum held between his thumb and first finger, whilst picking chord and melody lines with his second and third fingers.

Brilliant live rendition--"Blues Is Just A Bad Dream/Swinging Little Guitar Man"

Look for when Issac tunes his guitar seamlessly at the 3:46 mark, right in the middle of playing an amazing riff.
