Permanent Green Light - Marianne Gave Up Her Hand

Paisley Underground and power pop band formed by Michael Quercio in 1990 (together with Matt Devine and Chris Buckner) following the breakup of the legendary The Three O'Clock.
They released one album, one EP, and a few singles between 1992 and 1995.
"Marianne Gave Up Her Hand" is a track from their sole album "Against Nature", released in 1993 on Rockville Records. Produced by Earle Mankey, a legendary producer and engineer for many Los Angeles area bands in the eighties and nineties.

Right now it's "Valerie", in the version by The Zutons (with thanks to Noel Gallagher on Jools's show):

Excellent question! And I do love "Debbie Denise" (though not as much as "Searching For Celine" on Spectres), but I guess I'm demented enough to prefer "Sally." Though I might argue that it wasn't necessarily "good enough," but because of its depravity was left off. Just as "Mommy" was left off of Secret Treaties, very misogynistic lyrics (albeit tongue in cheek). Though it wouldn't have really "fit" that album anyway...
