Time to put some tape on the floor just in case you have to move them! Tried a new position with my speakers last night and I think i finally got it right! Not to brag but with these speakers it only took me a year to get it right.

Took me awhile to get my Cornwalls positioned after adding a sub, required modifications to my positioning template. Just about perfect now.

I just put a white ash platform from Butcher Block acoustics, I did it more for looks than for sound. I can't say if it helped the sound because I rolled some new tubes in right after I got it. Things are sounding great though!

    Props bro.

Now that I got it perfect I'm ripping the carpet out and going to repair, paint seal the concrete. I used the 1/3 room dimension method to finally get that last iota of performance and am down to (2) 2x4 panels in the corners. I may end up with zero room treatment though.

Yeah its heavy and tall, im using 1 of the 4 i bought as an actual door stop too.
Vibration control. Works. If Audioquest made it they'd be $149/each.

Can't tell if you are serious about ripping the carpet out...but concrete floors would echo like a mofo. So I'd appreciate it if you left the carpet in.

Very serious. This room for some crazy reason is "dead" as in really dead. The speakers are already sitting on the slab. I cut the a 2x2 section of the carpet out from around each speaker and it made the sonics better.

I just did some research, and member dh3rm3 was the member I had seen the “doorstop “ tweak.

Had a fun couple of hours moving my beloved ProAc Tablette 10 around so now they are firing around a foot in front of the listening position, sounds good!

Placed my newly purchased Pink Triangle GTI Export Turntable on to a medical platform that fits/ looks part of the TT itself- very nice.:)

I’ve integrated a couple of cheap Klipsch subs into my music system, consisting of Cornwall IVs and an Audiolab 6000a play. Previously I only used the subs for movies and found them to be a little slow and sloppy for music. But I played around with the levels and crossover and now it fills in nicely where the Cornwalls start to fall off. I’ve got them crossed over at 40hz and I adjusted the levels with my level meter and with the help of some test tones from Tidal.
I’m still running the CWIVs as full range. Now it just sounds like the CWs go a little deeper. Sounds good.

How does a TT look on a medical platform? Could you post a photo, please?

Need to learn how to post photos.:(

It has 3mm safety glass bonded to 10mm MDF then with 30mm square Sorbothane feet- works well.

I use this site Postimages — free image hosting / image upload
You select a photo from your photo library or make photo, then you click the small photo symbol on the right side of „direct link“ (2nd option in the listing) and it is copied into your copy/paste memory. Then you select the picture symbol on SHF and paste the link.

Yes, my sound changed. I think for the better, but final judgement will be after more listening time. I moved my speakers about 6 inches closer to me, and about 6 inches closer together. I hear a more focused soundstage, with better bass definition. I believe I can achieve slightly better results by making sure that toe in and proximity distances are the same for both speakers. I think there may be 1/2in or so differences to be addressed.

It really does come down to small changes at times.

Fooled around with doorstops some time ago, I don't like how they suck the life out of my soundstage.

That's worthy of a patent for sure. I have tape all over the place. The thing that finally got me over the hump was measurements as in 1/3 the length of the room for vertical placement and 36" from the side walls to the center of the tweeter. Since one side has a fireplace it finally dawned on me to make the horizontal measurement from there instead of the wall that the fireplace is built into. Bingo that was it.
