I just saw 'Uncut Gems'. Thought the Movie was Good, but the Sandman was Awesome(which I expected based on reviews of his performance). I do not care for Awards, as who is to say one's Acting Performance is better than another, as it is Art and not like Sports where the Scoreboard determines the Winners and Losers. That being said, I think Sandman's Performance is worthy of at least being nominated.

We chose 'Uncut Gems' over 'Knives Out', although I would have been happy to see that Movie, as love a Good Mystery, but will catch it in the next year on BluRay or Streamed. Same for 'Ford versus Ferrari', 'Doctor Sleep' and 'Parasite'. Missed out on Joker, but will be one of the Few Movies I will buy on Release(BluRay) knowing I will watch it several times most likely, as it will be released within 2 weeks.

I cannot really rank Movies of 2019, as only have seen 'The Irishman', 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' and 'IT-Chapter 2'. I have not seen yet all the Movies I wanted to, but bought 'US' and 'Glass'(more so to finish the Trilogy) during the BF Sale at Best Buy.

I looked at 'Rocketman' during that same sale, then realized why despite loving the early Elton John Albums, I passed on seeing this Movie in the Theater, as I hate Musicals, which is what I read Elton decided to make this Movie in a Genre covering part of his life, so I was not going to pay for this Movie even though was on Sale. The Factual Errors on his Music Career also were a turnoff, but I could have lived with some inaccuracies, if the Movie was not in 'Musical' Style. I will just wait to watch it when it plays for free on tv eventually, as doubtful I would ever want to watch it more than one time, but just check out for any parts of it that I might like.

I might be forgetting a few other Movies from 2019 at this time that might interest me.

Already looking forward to 2020 just in January alone for 'Underwater' & 'The Turning'(Both Trailers looks good and creepy, so hoping these Movies will not be a bust) and 'The Gentlemen'(of course from my Avatar, I am a Big Charlie Hunnam Fan and liked him in 'The Lost City of Z' Movie in 2018).

I'll be editing my list when I see it next Friday when it is in wide release. I am expecting (hoping) it to be in my top 5 for 2019.

To my earlier Top 10 list I would add Motherless Brooklyn, which I saw just before year end 2019. Ed Norton, William Dafoe, and Alec Baldwin are all good (especially Norton, with Tourette’s syndrome), with a little cameo from Bruce Willis. Nice shots of NYC and the 50s setting suits it. Excellent, largely jazz soundtrack though you get some Thom Yorke (Radiohead) too. Wouldn’t be surprised if that takes the Oscar next month. If you are a fan of crime noir movies like LA Confidential or Chinatown you should like it. Some folks seem put off by its length, nearly 2.5 hours, but I enjoyed that.

I still have to see many of last year's films (like "Joker", "Midsommar", "Marriage Story", "Jojo Rabbit" and many more) but here are a handful of movies I liked very much (the best is bold):

Portrait of a Lady on Fire
    Parasite
    Pain and Glory
    Transit
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

These are still on my watchlist.
I also liked "If Beale Street Could Talk" very much.

As usual I saw so few films that actually were released in 2019. I did sit through the Irishman but I just didn't think it was all that great. I think I would have to go with Avengers Endgame and surprisingly, Dolemite is My Name, a very sweet, funny film and a reminder of how good Eddie Murphy can be when he is fully engaged. I do have a list of 2019 Blu releases I am looking forward to though. Thanks for all the recommendations!
