The social networking craze has taken over some cable TV systems. The money losing religious-family channel AmericanLife TV has recently changed formats to a social networking type of cable channel called Youtoo TV where in between programs, people can upload 15 second spots answering a featured question via a smart phone, a tablet or any computer and other interactive stuff. Batman, Green Hornet and X-Files reruns are on this channel and you can go to www.youtoo.com to get info on the network, uploading videos, etc.
So...you upload a 15-second clip, then they run them back (I assume in the order they receive them?) during the commercial breaks? That's unique. Do they charge you for running your clips? Or, do you have to pay a membership to upload the clips? When the local cable company sells Geico a jillion spots, do they cover-up the network's original schedule of viewer-contributed clips? And, if they do, does that mean you won't have to pay them anything if they don't run in your own hometown? Now playing on Ariel Stream: Deep Forest w/Marta Sebestyn - Marta's Song
No they don't charge for running the clips. They are part of the social aspect of the network. Sometimes they run normal commercials, but not very often.
