I'm not sure what the point of starting a new thread/poll is, without the isolated vocal and information about the recording as part of the first post? As it stands now, it's no better than the last poll, where any sort of critical information was buried where most people seeing the poll would never see it.

Thought it was John until I heard the isolated vocals...now think it is Paul.

here is another prediction, if the new poll looks like its still going to come down on John's side it will be " the poll means nothing " ( which is actually true ), however if it comes down Paul we'll be hearing i told you so's till the cows come home and go and wash out your ears etc etc etc.

I would love to go back in time and see a poll on this forum from 20-30 years ago, "who played the lead guitar on "Taxman?" Would have been George in a landslide.

    :)

I'm really unsure, but I'm leaning Paul so that's what I put. It's hard though because my entire life I thought it was John. I wish they had filmed every moment of their existence in the studio.

Well I hope not. Certainly not from me anyway. I stick by the "poll means nothing" line. It would just be interesting to see what the split is now, seeing as how the last thread had a lot of votes that couldn't be changed and had a lot of votes prior to the isolation being available.

I am happy for this poll to go ahead. Result will indeed prove nothing either way and many members will probably not bother voting again meaning only the ones who feel really strongly will be collated.

If you guys made this much effort to solve something important we could rid the world of war and disease.

    Oh, and it's still Paul.

See you 100 pages from now. I'm sure we'll still be in the exact same place.

I'm a first gen fan who always thought it was John, but listening to the iso vocal I believe it's Paul. The weird thing is that I think one of the background "oooh" vocals sounds like something Paul would do(reminds me a bit of the ethereal "ooh-ing" at the beginning of Too Many People from Ram.)

Why wouldn't Emerick have greater people skills than technological skills, given that many on this forum regard his engineering work as subpar compared to Norman Smith? Norman Smith excelled at engineering, while Emerick was more of a people person, more concerned with vocal performances than punch ins. That Giles Martin corroborates Emerick's account of who sang the vocal gives additional credence to attributing the vocal to John.

There were a few good summaries in this massive thread. There might be newer ones but this post and the post that is quoted both offer a good overview for those with a life who didn't wade through the previous massive thread. ;)
