Seems Discogs now requires you to accept their cookies and will forward your information to a seemingly endless list of "partners". If I've got this wrong I'd appreciate giving me the word. If not I've no desire and frankly resent being a commodity who's information is sold at will.

Hate to tell you that all websites use cookies. Hell there is a stevehoffman.tv listing for cache and cookies saved in my browser data right now.

Well at least here in Europe you can un-click them all. Noone gets the info.

You seem to need to do it every time you open the oage again after closing it, but you can do it. The pros if GDPR.

Saving cookies and asking permission to share you data with a million companies world-wide is not the same thing though. Discogs does the later.

You can make a habit of regularly deleting cookies and cache, although you have to be careful because it can lead to signing you out of websites.

And that was the OPs concern. That they sell/share the data

I suspect there was some measure of confusion on that front.

I’m sure that’s always been the case; there’s just more transparency now with GDPR and CCPA, along with the right to opt out. I don’t like it, but analytics, performance, tracking and advertising cookies have been a major part of web browsing for a good 20 years, and have only increased in quantity and ability as digital advertising technology has advanced.

There are various browser plugins that can help you manage cookies and other tracking.
For example, the AdGuard browser extension has an optional stealth mode that can be configured to automatically self-destruct third party cookies after a set amount of time (default is 48 hours).
There are other browser plugins that will allow you to create white-lists and black-lists for which cookies to keep and which cookies to delete. Create a white-list for web sites you log in so you don't get logged out when you clean the cookies.
