Might have been even better if Waldo was on the cover of "Where Are You"

Bob, if it's any consolation/reason for hope, I just checked MFSL's "Silver Box" edition of the LP and it is the original cover sans song lineup.

...and on Music Direct's website, it now says "Ships Today!" for the three LPs. The SACDs still say "DECEMBER 2012", so there is hope for those of us waiting for those before New Year's.

The vinyl is pretty amazing - jawdropping in parts.

Interestinly each of the lps came with a bit of dust on the surface - I always clean with a VPI prior to play so there was no issue - and they came out sparkling.
But this is first time I've encountered this from MFSL.

I'll give a more serious listening tomorrow but so far Where Are You really seemed to be the standout sound-wise. But each was outstanding, and Swingin' was a blast.

Music Direct just sent a Fedex shipment notice, and I am looking forward to hearing these tomorrow!

Many people reported that recent Mofi innersleeves are leaving a nasty residue on their clean vinyl. Perhaps the new Sinatra LPs were packed in the same apparently defective sleeves. Guess I won't be surprised if my new records arrive 'dirty'--we'll see...

A thread on the Mofi sleeve issues:

Just ordered Where Are You. It will be my 3rd Sinatra title. I got the 2 Gray mastered reprise titles a few years ago. Enjoy those very much. Probably should get one of the more swinging titles next.

That is really wonderful to hear. I was hoping the mono remaster would be a standout.

    Quoted from another thread:
    1. No. ONLY THE LONELY and NICE 'N' EASY were reissued a few years back. The earlier (1980's) MoFi Sinatra issues were excellent, but they had a few problems (e.g. wrong master tapes for SWINGIN' LOVERS), and they were not mono on the early stereo albums (for which the mono masters were arguably better).
    2. Lets hope so. We're about to find out...

I'll be interested in comparing the serial numbers of my SACDs with others, to test the validity of Music Direct's "lowest-numbered copy" ad enticement. I ordered mine October 9th, the day after they became available for preorder. (Although, why anyone should give a hoot is beyond me: The millionth copy of an SACD will sound identical to the first. ;))

^ Bragging rights. You had it before anyone else.

    The number doesn't prove that.

Case in point (just to exercise some undeserved bragging rights :)): My limited edition COMPLETE REPRISE STUDIO RECORDINGS suitcase has a lower number plate than any other I've seen reported (#00463 out of about 16,000 sold worldwide), and I bought it sealed off a store shelf, but that was years after the 1995 release. Pure luck.

True, but no one needs to know that!

The limited numbering really pertains to how early the jacket or package was created, and not necessarily to the LP or CD inside. Your package may say #463, but the discs inside could have been the 15,738th that were manufactured! It might be more meaningful if the number was printed on the disc itself.
