I couldn't be thankful enough for all the releases. I picked up lumpy primordial burgundy vinyl yesterday. Love this so much ! Yes even though I have lumpy money 3cd ! Also added A Token of His Extreme cd, the hammersmith 3cd set and 40th Orchestral Favorites 3cd set. Token sounds awesome ! Any comments on FZ:OZ from a sound quality angle ? Besides the audience tape areas ? Love the sound quality on Philly 76, Halloween 77 and Hammersmith, roxy set and ZINY 40th. Is FZ:OZ comparable ?
Awwwww... Moon tries...... Moon Unit & Dweezil Zappa on Instagram: “On today’s episode, Moon learns “Treacherous Cretins.” #shutupandplayyerguitar #zappa #zappamusic @roninguitars”
I really like FZ/OZ. I dont recall the sound being especially good, but it is quite decent. Any band where Frank is the only guitarist is worth checking out.
Wow Chicago 78 is amazing. Village of the Sun !!! SO great Also this is my new favorite FZ guitar album. I might have to just play this again, FZ:OZ next !
RSDBF '19 Special Release: Frank Zappa - Peaches En Regalia In celebration of HOT RATS’ fiftieth anniversary, “Peaches En Regalia” and “Little Umbrellas” get their first-ever single release. A-Side: “Peaches En Regalia (Mono Single Master)”, “Little Umbrellas (Mono Single Master)” B-Side: “Peaches En Regalia (Rhythm Track Mixes)”, “Little Umbrellas (Rhythm Track Mixes)”
The We're Only In It For The Money mono picture disc a year ago sounded surprisingly great, so I'm cautiously optimistic. Usually they blow, though.
After watching FZ Goes to Sicily, Summer '82 on bluray. How about the UNcut/Complete Palermo (riot) Concert on CD : )
... An update on the Zappa movie from Alex Winter: “I’ve spent the last several months painstakingly tracking and licensing the vast amount of visual and audio media that we’re using in this film. I was determined to construct the film primarily from original and unseen Zappa archival, which requires an enormous amount of labour to be able to use all that footage. And use it we did! Now we’re closing out that process and beginning the work of colour correction and the laborious sound mix, all of which will take us to New Year. It’s extremely important to get this film right and not skimp on any part of the process. But I’m thrilled with the movie we made and excited to get it out into the world.” [Added: 06 October 2019] You Call That News?
...so what’s everyone’s guess at the length this film might be? To be a compelling overview, at least six hours- right? I’d be down for that!
